What your institution gets
- Free courses for everyone you serveStudents, trainees, staff, alumni and job seekers each create a free account and take any of the 196 courses at their own pace, on a phone, with lessons written for a Nigerian context.
- Certificates that mean somethingA Skillnaija certificate is issued only when a learner passes the course's graded project. Every certificate has a public verification page showing the project that earned it, so your careers office or HR team can check it in seconds.
- Public project briefs and rubricsEvery course's capstone brief, grading rubric and free project workbook are published at skillnaija.org/projects. Trainers use them to set assessments and employers use them to understand what a certificate proves.
- Blended trades trainingTailoring, plumbing, electrical wiring, welding, solar, POP, tiling, furniture, CCTV, AC and generator courses carry the theory, safety, pricing and business lessons, so your workshop time goes into hands-on practice. Safety-critical projects are human-reviewed.
- A jobs board for your graduatesskillnaija.org/jobs lists reviewed openings from Nigerian employers; employers with an account can post free and see graded project evidence from candidates who apply.
- Materials and community contributionsPartners can contribute resources, notes and career guidance through our reviewed partner contributions channel, credited to your institution.
How institutions use Skillnaija
- Technical and vocational training centres run a Skillnaija course as the theory track of a trade programme and assess the practical themselves; graduates finish with the centre's certificate and a verifiable Skillnaija certificate.
- Polytechnics and universities point students to the catalogue through the careers office, SIWES and entrepreneurship units, and use business and finance courses (bookkeeping, tax, business plans, digital marketing) as employability modules.
- Secondary schools and youth programmes use the Civic & Life Skills, digital safety and practical mathematics courses, and the trades courses for students choosing an apprenticeship.
- NGOs, foundations and government skills programmes use the free courses as the curriculum for cohorts, with certificates as the completion evidence funders ask for.
- Employers onboard staff with role-specific courses (customer support, sales, bookkeeping, data analysis, AI tools), hire through the employer portal, and verify candidate certificates online.

Frequently asked questions
Is Skillnaija really free for institutions and their students?
Yes. Every course, project and certificate is free for the learner, and there is no institutional licence fee. Students, trainees and staff create free individual accounts; the institution pays nothing.
How can an employer or school verify a Skillnaija certificate?
Every certificate carries a unique code and a public verification page at skillnaija.org/cert/<code> showing the learner, the course and the graded project that earned it. Certificates are issued only for a passed project, never for attendance.
Can we use Skillnaija courses inside our own curriculum?
Yes. Institutions use the courses as the theory and self-study component of blended programmes, especially in the trades, while providing the hands-on sessions themselves. Every course's project brief and rubric are public, so trainers can build assessments around them.
Does Skillnaija provide reports on our students' progress?
Learners can share their verifiable certificates and graded project evidence with you directly, and employers with an account see graded evidence for candidates who apply. Cohort dashboards for partner institutions are on the roadmap; email us to be an early partner.
How do we link to Skillnaija from our website?
Copy one of the snippets above into your resources, careers or e-learning page, pointing to skillnaija.org or to a specific course or category page.
