What you will submit
A single shared document link (Google Doc, Word or Notion, set to 'anyone with the link can view') containing: your niche + one-liner + pillars, 10 content ideas, the script for your first video/3 TikToks, a link to the filmed-and-posted content, five titles + a thumbnail + description line with reasoning, a 90-day growth plan, and a monetisation-and-getting-paid plan.
What to do, step by step
- Choose your niche and write your channel one-liner using the Lesson 1 format ('I help [who] do [what] so they can [benefit]'), state whether you will be face-forward or faceless and why, list your 3-4 content pillars, and confirm which platforms you will post to (e.g. YouTube + TikTok + Reels).
- Brainstorm 10 specific content ideas pulled from your pillars — real, searchable, Nigerian-relevant ideas (not vague), each with a one-line description. Mine YouTube and TikTok search autocomplete from Lesson 4 to make sure people actually search for them.
- Script and film your first piece of content: ONE full video (for YouTube) OR three TikToks. Write the script using the Hook / Value / Call-to-Action structure from Lesson 3 (write the hook word-for-word), film it on your phone with good light, clean sound and a steady shot, edit it in CapCut with captions, and post it (or upload it unlisted) so you can share a link.
- Package that first video: write five possible titles and pick the strongest, design one clean thumbnail in Canva (3-4 words max, readable on a small screen) for the YouTube version, and write a keyword-rich first line of description — explaining in one or two lines why each choice should win the click (per Lesson 4).
- Write a 90-day growth plan: your posting cadence and schedule (something you can truly sustain), how you will get your first 100 subscribers/followers, two collaboration ideas with creators at your level, and which one analytics habit you will use to improve each video (from Lesson 6).
- Write a monetisation plan naming at least three income streams you will pursue and roughly when (e.g. local brand deals from month 1, affiliate links, your own product, AdSense once you qualify), how you will get paid from Nigeria (e.g. Payoneer/Grey/Geegpay or a domiciliary account), and put EVERYTHING — plan plus the link to your filmed video/TikToks — into one shared document and submit the link.

| Criterion | Weight |
|---|---|
| Clear niche, channel one-liner, face/faceless choice, and 3-4 sustainable content pillars, plus 10 specific, searchable, Nigerian-relevant content ideas | 25% |
| A first video or 3 TikToks actually scripted (Hook/Value/CTA) and filmed and linked — with watchable light, sound, a steady shot, and captions | 25% |
| Strong packaging: five titles with a chosen winner, a clean readable thumbnail, and a keyword-rich description line, each justified per Lesson 4 | 20% |
| A realistic 90-day growth plan: sustainable cadence, a first-100 strategy, two peer-level collab ideas, and one analytics habit | 20% |
| A monetisation plan naming 3+ income streams with timing and a concrete way to get paid from Nigeria, all in one tidy shareable document | 10% |
You need 65% overall to pass. A failed submission comes back with feedback and can be revised and resubmitted.
Before you submit: make your link public
If your work lives in Google Drive or Google Docs, open Share → General access and change “Restricted” to “Anyone with the link” (Viewer). Then paste the link into a private browser window: if it opens without sign-in, you are ready. A private link cannot be graded — it is the single most common reason a good project fails.
Frequently asked questions
Do I have to finish YouTube & TikTok Creator Academy before submitting the project?
Yes. The submission screen opens once every lesson in YouTube & TikTok Creator Academy is marked complete. The lessons are where the methods, the Nigerian context and the worked examples the project depends on are taught.
How is the project graded?
An examiner scores each rubric criterion from 0 to 100 and weights them as shown on this page; you need 65% overall to pass. Most submissions are graded within minutes and you get written feedback on what was strong and what to improve.
Can I resubmit if I fail?
Yes. A failed project comes back with feedback; revise the weak parts and resubmit. A passed project is final — the certificate is issued and cannot be re-rolled.
What do I actually submit?
A write-up of what you did (under 5,000 characters) plus a public link to your work — a Google Drive folder, Google Doc, spreadsheet, GitHub repository or video. The link must open without sign-in; a private link cannot be graded. The free project workbook on this page walks you through all 6 steps.
Is the certificate real?
Yes. Passing this project issues a certificate with a unique verification code. Anyone — an employer, a client, a school — can open the verification page and see that the certificate is genuine and which project earned it.
