About this course
In 2026 a phone and a ₦14,000 subscription can produce a full song with vocals in under a minute. What it cannot do is make that song yours, legal, distributable or worth paying for — those are skills, and this course teaches them. Twelve lessons take you from what the tools actually do (Suno v5.5, Udio, Google's Lyria 3, ElevenLabs Music, Stable Audio and the AI features inside BandLab and FL Studio) to the law that decides who owns the output (the US Copyright Office's human-authorship rule, the Suno and Udio lawsuits and label settlements, the ELVIS Act and the NO FAKES Act, and what Nigeria's Copyright Act 2022 does and does not say), then into the craft: writing hooks and lyrics in English, Pidgin and Nigerian languages with AI as a collaborator; prompting Afrobeats, amapiano, gospel and highlife convincingly; pulling stems into a DAW and replacing, layering and arranging until the record is yours; recording and treating your own vocals; mixing and mastering with AI assistants to streaming loudness; and releasing under DistroKid's AI Credits, Spotify's 2025 policy, YouTube's disclosure rules and MCSN registration. The money lessons are honest about what AI music work pays in Nigeria — jingles, skit and podcast soundtracks, church demos, beat licensing, ghost production, faceless channels — and the project is a release-ready song package with a real human contribution, stems, a lyric and split sheet, an AI-use disclosure and a distribution plan.
In January 2026 an Afro-soul version of Stromae's 'Papaoutai' became the highest new entry on Spotify's global chart. It was made with AI: an AI voice model trained on a Congolese-born singer's voice, projected onto the original melody, with a rhythm section nobody played. Two months later Suno released version 5.5 of its model, which can generate a full song with lyrics, a lead vocal and a mix in under a minute, and its Studio can split that song into twelve stems you can drop into any DAW. This is the world you are learning to work in. It is not a world where music is free and musicians are finished; it is a world where the tools are astonishing, the law is unsettled, the platforms are writing new rules every quarter, and the people who earn are the ones who add something human, own what they release and know exactly which rule applies. This lesson maps the tools, the three honest ways to use them, the money, and the rule that will repeat in every lesson: AI is raw material; you are the producer.
