What you will submit

A single shareable link containing your media kit (stats, audience, proof), your packages and naira pricing, your chosen brand with a fit rationale, your tailored pitch, and a short note on disclosure, payment and reporting.

What to do, step by step

  1. Build a one-to-two page media kit (Canva, Google Doc, or PDF): your name/handle and niche, headline stats per platform (followers, engagement rate, typical reach), an honest audience picture (top locations, age range, gender split), 2–3 best posts with their stats, and any past brand work or a mock product feature if you have none yet.
  2. Create a clear pricing and packages section: at least three packages (e.g. Starter, Standard, Premium) with the deliverables and naira prices for each, and note where you'd charge extra for usage rights or exclusivity. Show the logic behind your pricing (engagement, niche, content quality), not just numbers.
  3. Choose ONE real or sample Nigerian brand whose customers genuinely match your audience, and explain in 2–3 sentences why you're a strong fit for them specifically.
  4. Write a tailored pitch (email or DM) to that brand: a specific hook showing you know them, one tight line on you and your headline stat, how you help THEM, one concrete content idea, a reference to your media kit, and one easy closing question.
  5. Add a short note on how you'd handle the deal professionally: your disclosure approach (#ad / paid partnership), your payment terms (e.g. 50% upfront), and how you'd report results back to the brand.
  6. Put the media kit and the pitch in one shareable document or link (Google Doc, Notion, or a viewable PDF) and submit the public, viewable link.

How it is graded

CriterionWeight
Media kit quality: clean, professional, with honest headline stats and a clear audience picture25%
Pricing and packages: at least three packages with naira prices and sound pricing logic (engagement, niche, usage rights)20%
Brand fit and tailored pitch: a well-matched brand and a specific, value-led pitch that would realistically get a reply25%
Professionalism: disclosure approach, payment terms and a results-reporting plan15%
Nigerian context and practicality: real platforms, realistic naira figures, and local realities (payment rails, niche brands)15%

You need 65% overall to pass. A failed submission comes back with feedback and can be revised and resubmitted.

Before you submit: make your link public

If your work lives in Google Drive or Google Docs, open Share → General access and change “Restricted” to “Anyone with the link” (Viewer). Then paste the link into a private browser window: if it opens without sign-in, you are ready. A private link cannot be graded — it is the single most common reason a good project fails.

Frequently asked questions

Do I have to finish Brand Deals & Sponsorships before submitting the project?

Yes. The submission screen opens once every lesson in Brand Deals & Sponsorships is marked complete. The lessons are where the methods, the Nigerian context and the worked examples the project depends on are taught.

How is the project graded?

An examiner scores each rubric criterion from 0 to 100 and weights them as shown on this page; you need 65% overall to pass. Most submissions are graded within minutes and you get written feedback on what was strong and what to improve.

Can I resubmit if I fail?

Yes. A failed project comes back with feedback; revise the weak parts and resubmit. A passed project is final — the certificate is issued and cannot be re-rolled.

What do I actually submit?

A write-up of what you did (under 5,000 characters) plus a public link to your work — a Google Drive folder, Google Doc, spreadsheet, GitHub repository or video. The link must open without sign-in; a private link cannot be graded. The free project workbook on this page walks you through all 6 steps.

Is the certificate real?

Yes. Passing this project issues a certificate with a unique verification code. Anyone — an employer, a client, a school — can open the verification page and see that the certificate is genuine and which project earned it.
