What you will submit
A written detailing business plan (a document or shared link) containing your service packages with naira pricing, your step-by-step process checklist, your equipment and product list with costs, your mobile-vs-shop decision, and your customer-getting plan.
What to do, step by step
- Define your service packages: create at least three tiers (e.g. Express/Maintenance, Full Detail, Premium/Showroom) with a clear naira price range for each, what is included in each, and a list of priced add-ons (such as headlight restoration, leather treatment or engine bay clean). Base your prices on realistic 2026 Nigerian figures and your own city.
- Write your step-by-step detailing process as a checklist a person could follow on any car, in order, covering both the exterior (safe two-bucket wash, decontamination, drying, protection) and the interior (declutter, vacuum, hard surfaces, glass, seats/carpets, dressing, door jambs), and ending with a final quality check.
- List your equipment and products: the starter kit you need to launch, with rough naira costs, and note which items are essential to start versus upgrades you will add later. Include how you will handle water and power (e.g. jerrycans/drum, a generator).
- Decide and justify your setup: mobile or fixed shop (or a plan to start mobile and grow into a shop), and explain why that choice fits your situation, capital and target customers.
- Write your customer-getting plan: who your first customers will be, how you will reach them, how you will use before-and-after content and WhatsApp Status, at least two partnership ideas (e.g. car dealers, Uber/Bolt drivers, mechanics), and how you will turn one-off jobs into repeat bookings.
- Add one short paragraph on your standards and ethics: how you will protect customers' paint and property, be honest about what detailing can and cannot fix, and confirm prices before starting work.

You need 65% overall to pass. A failed submission comes back with feedback and can be revised and resubmitted.
Before you submit: make your link public
If your work lives in Google Drive or Google Docs, open Share → General access and change “Restricted” to “Anyone with the link” (Viewer). Then paste the link into a private browser window: if it opens without sign-in, you are ready. A private link cannot be graded — it is the single most common reason a good project fails.
Frequently asked questions
Do I have to finish Car Detailing Business before submitting the project?
Yes. The submission screen opens once every lesson in Car Detailing Business is marked complete. The lessons are where the methods, the Nigerian context and the worked examples the project depends on are taught.
How is the project graded?
An examiner scores each rubric criterion from 0 to 100 and weights them as shown on this page; you need 65% overall to pass. Most submissions are graded within minutes and you get written feedback on what was strong and what to improve.
Can I resubmit if I fail?
Yes. A failed project comes back with feedback; revise the weak parts and resubmit. A passed project is final — the certificate is issued and cannot be re-rolled.
What do I actually submit?
A write-up of what you did (under 5,000 characters). You can mention a public link to supporting files in the write-up. The free project workbook on this page walks you through all 6 steps.
Is the certificate real?
Yes. Passing this project issues a certificate with a unique verification code. Anyone — an employer, a client, a school — can open the verification page and see that the certificate is genuine and which project earned it.
