What you will submit

A single shareable link (Google Drive folder, a doc, a gallery, or a social post) — or pasted text if you cannot host media — containing your brand brief, at least three image prompts with their generated results, one before/after iteration, ideally one short video clip (or its written prompt), and a short honesty note.

What to do, step by step

  1. Pick ONE real (or realistic) Nigerian small business — your own or someone's you know: a fashion seller, food vendor, POS agent, event planner, skit-maker, anything. Write a short 3-4 line brand brief: its colours, vibe, the style of images you want, and what it actually sells.
  2. Using the prompt formula and your brand brief, write and run at least THREE strong, on-brand image prompts for different placements — for example a square (1:1) feed product shot, a vertical (9:16) WhatsApp status, and a flyer or ad creative. Save the exact prompt text you used for each.
  3. Show iteration on at least one image: keep your first attempt and an improved version (a refined prompt, an inpaint edit, or a fix), so the difference is visible. Generate the images with NO baked-in text, then add your real business name, price and contact in Canva or another editor.
  4. Ideally, create ONE short promo clip (a few seconds) by animating one of your stills, and finish it in CapCut with your text and music. If you cannot make a video, you may instead include one extra image plus a written note of the exact video prompt you would use.
  5. Write a short honesty note (3-5 sentences): confirm that what you show matches what the business can really deliver, state that no real person's face was used without permission, and say where (if anywhere) you added a 'created with AI' label and why.
  6. Put it all together as one shareable gallery, doc or post containing your brand brief, your prompts, the generated images (with the before/after pair), the clip or its prompt, and your honesty note.

How it is graded

CriterionWeight
Prompt quality — each image prompt clearly uses the building blocks (subject, style, setting, lighting, composition) and is tied to the brand brief30%
Control of style, size and consistency — correct aspect ratios for each placement and a visibly consistent look across the set25%
Iteration and finishing — a clear before/after improvement, and real text/logo added properly in an editor rather than left to the AI20%
Video attempt — a short clip animating a still (or a well-formed video prompt with the right motion and camera detail if no clip is possible)15%
Ethics and honesty — visuals match what can be delivered, no unauthorised real faces, and AI is disclosed where it could mislead10%

You need 65% overall to pass. A failed submission comes back with feedback and can be revised and resubmitted.

Before you submit: make your link public

If your work lives in Google Drive or Google Docs, open Share → General access and change “Restricted” to “Anyone with the link” (Viewer). Then paste the link into a private browser window: if it opens without sign-in, you are ready. A private link cannot be graded — it is the single most common reason a good project fails.

Frequently asked questions

Do I have to finish AI Image & Video Prompting before submitting the project?

Yes. The submission screen opens once every lesson in AI Image & Video Prompting is marked complete. The lessons are where the methods, the Nigerian context and the worked examples the project depends on are taught.

How is the project graded?

An examiner scores each rubric criterion from 0 to 100 and weights them as shown on this page; you need 65% overall to pass. Most submissions are graded within minutes and you get written feedback on what was strong and what to improve.

Can I resubmit if I fail?

Yes. A failed project comes back with feedback; revise the weak parts and resubmit. A passed project is final — the certificate is issued and cannot be re-rolled.

What do I actually submit?

A write-up of what you did (under 5,000 characters) plus a public link to your work — a Google Drive folder, Google Doc, spreadsheet, GitHub repository or video. The link must open without sign-in; a private link cannot be graded. The free project workbook on this page walks you through all 6 steps.

Is the certificate real?

Yes. Passing this project issues a certificate with a unique verification code. Anyone — an employer, a client, a school — can open the verification page and see that the certificate is genuine and which project earned it.
