What you will submit

A single document or shared link containing a short brand brief plus three ready-to-film short-form scripts, each with a clearly marked hook and CTA, using three different hook types and three different formats.

What to do, step by step

  1. Choose one real or sample Nigerian brand to write for — your own hustle, a friend's business, or a specific business you can study. Write a short brand brief naming what it sells, who the customer is, the price range in naira, the brand's voice, and the goal of each video (reach, follows, or sales).
  2. Write THREE distinct short-form scripts (each shootable in roughly 7–60 seconds) for that one brand. Each script must use a DIFFERENT hook type (e.g. curiosity gap, pain/problem, bold claim, number/list, story) and a DIFFERENT format (e.g. listicle, before-and-after, POV, green-screen explainer, customer-reaction, story).
  3. In every script, clearly LABEL the HOOK at the top (the spoken line plus the on-screen text) and clearly LABEL the CTA at the end — both must be marked so a reader can spot them instantly.
  4. Format each script ready-to-film: for each beat of the body, separate what is SAID (voiceover / talking-head line) from what is SHOWN (visual, on-screen text, b-roll). Add a rough length and, where relevant, a suggested trending sound or format.
  5. Make at least one script a clear sales/conversion video with a direct CTA (e.g. 'message PRICE on WhatsApp' or 'link in bio') and at least one an awareness/reach video with a soft CTA (follow, save, or comment a keyword), so the set shows you can match CTA to goal.
  6. Write everything up cleanly in one document or shareable link, with the three scripts clearly separated and the brand brief at the top.

Clear brand brief: a real or sample Nigerian brand with named product, customer, naira pricing, voice and per-video goal15%
Three strong, distinct hooks using genuinely different hook types, each marked and capable of stopping the scroll in the first second30%
Three different formats with well-structured middles that hold attention (no dead beats, good pacing, clear beats)25%
Clearly marked CTAs matched to each video's goal, with at least one soft (awareness) and one direct (sales) CTA20%
Professional ready-to-film formatting: SAID vs SHOWN separated, rough length and sound noted, clean and clearly laid out10%

You need 65% overall to pass. A failed submission comes back with feedback and can be revised and resubmitted.

Before you submit: make your link public

If your work lives in Google Drive or Google Docs, open Share → General access and change “Restricted” to “Anyone with the link” (Viewer). Then paste the link into a private browser window: if it opens without sign-in, you are ready. A private link cannot be graded — it is the single most common reason a good project fails.

Frequently asked questions

Do I have to finish Short-Form Video Scripting before submitting the project?

Yes. The submission screen opens once every lesson in Short-Form Video Scripting is marked complete. The lessons are where the methods, the Nigerian context and the worked examples the project depends on are taught.

How is the project graded?

An examiner scores each rubric criterion from 0 to 100 and weights them as shown on this page; you need 65% overall to pass. Most submissions are graded within minutes and you get written feedback on what was strong and what to improve.

Can I resubmit if I fail?

Yes. A failed project comes back with feedback; revise the weak parts and resubmit. A passed project is final — the certificate is issued and cannot be re-rolled.

What do I actually submit?

A write-up of what you did (under 5,000 characters) plus a public link to your work — a Google Drive folder, Google Doc, spreadsheet, GitHub repository or video. The link must open without sign-in; a private link cannot be graded. The free project workbook on this page walks you through all 6 steps.

Is the certificate real?

Yes. Passing this project issues a certificate with a unique verification code. Anyone — an employer, a client, a school — can open the verification page and see that the certificate is genuine and which project earned it.
