What you will submit

A single shareable link (Behance / public Canva or Drive folder / portfolio site / Instagram set) containing AT LEAST four on-brand AI images for one invented Nigerian business — including a product shot, an ad creative and a social graphic — each shown with the EXACT prompt and tool used, with the ad and social pieces finished in Canva using consistent brand fonts/colours and real ₦ content. Include the short note covering the business, brand recipe, tools, a limit you handled, and your pricing plus client-finding plan. If anything is hosted separately, include all the links.

What to do, step by step

  1. Invent ONE realistic Nigerian small business and write two or three sentences naming it: what it sells, who its customers are, and the brand mood it should project (e.g. 'Ife Glow — an affordable shea-butter skincare brand for young Lagos women; warm, natural, premium-but-friendly'). Define its brand recipe BEFORE you generate: two or three colours, a mood, a style and a typical lighting/background feel — and write these down, because every prompt must reuse them.
  2. Using any of the tools taught (Midjourney, DALL·E/ChatGPT, Ideogram, Leonardo or Canva AI), generate AT LEAST FOUR on-brand images for the business that work as a set: include at minimum one PRODUCT SHOT, one AD CREATIVE, and one SOCIAL GRAPHIC (the fourth and any extras are your choice — a mockup, a background, another product angle, a lifestyle scene). They must clearly belong to the same brand: consistent colours, mood and style across all of them.
  3. For EACH image, write down the EXACT prompt you used (and the tool), so an assessor can see your prompting. Show that you applied the six-part prompt thinking (subject, setting, lighting, style, composition, quality) and that you prompted for the finished use (right shape, empty space for text where needed).
  4. Finish at least the ad creative and the social graphic in Canva into ready-to-post designs: add the brand's real text (headline, offer or caption) in consistent fonts and colours, place a simple brand name/logo, and apply the design principles — clear hierarchy, contrast, alignment and breathing room. Use believable Nigerian content and naira (₦) prices — NEVER 'Lorem ipsum' or '$' placeholder money. Run a quality check: no broken hands, no garbled text, sharp resolution.
  5. Compile EVERYTHING into ONE shareable portfolio — a Behance project, a Canva/Google Drive folder set to 'anyone with the link can view', a free portfolio site, or an Instagram set — containing the four-plus finished images AND the exact prompt (and tool) used for each, so an assessor can open and see them.
  6. Write a short note (5-7 sentences) in your portfolio or submission: the business and its customers, your brand recipe (colours/mood/style) and why it fits, which tools you used and why, one limit or fix you handled (e.g. avoided hands, fixed text, combined with a real photo), and your go-to-market — the naira price you'd charge for this image set and how you'd find your first client for this kind of work.

How it is graded

CriterionWeight
Brand consistency — the four-plus images clearly belong to one brand: the same two-to-three colours, mood and style used deliberately across the product shot, ad creative and social graphic25%
Prompts & technique — the exact prompt and tool are shown for every image, and they demonstrate the six-part structure (subject/setting/lighting/style/composition/quality) and prompting for the finished use25%
Image quality & fixes — clean, professional images with no broken hands, no garbled text and sharp resolution; the ad and social pieces are finished in Canva with hierarchy, contrast and brand text/logo20%
Nigerian content & realism — believable local business, real-style names, captions and naira (₦) prices, sensible details (no Lorem ipsum or '$' placeholders)15%
Judgement note — clear business and brand recipe, justified tool choices, one limit/fix handled honestly, plus a realistic ₦ price and client-finding plan15%

You need 65% overall to pass. A failed submission comes back with feedback and can be revised and resubmitted.

Before you submit: make your link public

If your work lives in Google Drive or Google Docs, open Share → General access and change “Restricted” to “Anyone with the link” (Viewer). Then paste the link into a private browser window: if it opens without sign-in, you are ready. A private link cannot be graded — it is the single most common reason a good project fails.

Frequently asked questions

Do I have to finish AI Image Generation for Brands before submitting the project?

Yes. The submission screen opens once every lesson in AI Image Generation for Brands is marked complete. The lessons are where the methods, the Nigerian context and the worked examples the project depends on are taught.

How is the project graded?

An examiner scores each rubric criterion from 0 to 100 and weights them as shown on this page; you need 65% overall to pass. Most submissions are graded within minutes and you get written feedback on what was strong and what to improve.

Can I resubmit if I fail?

Yes. A failed project comes back with feedback; revise the weak parts and resubmit. A passed project is final — the certificate is issued and cannot be re-rolled.

What do I actually submit?

A write-up of what you did (under 5,000 characters) plus a public link to your work — a Google Drive folder, Google Doc, spreadsheet, GitHub repository or video. The link must open without sign-in; a private link cannot be graded. The free project workbook on this page walks you through all 6 steps.

Is the certificate real?

Yes. Passing this project issues a certificate with a unique verification code. Anyone — an employer, a client, a school — can open the verification page and see that the certificate is genuine and which project earned it.
