What you will submit
One document containing all five parts, clearly numbered 1-5.
What to do, step by step
- Practice set (labelling + guideline): pick any 5 short Nigerian-context texts (product reviews, WhatsApp business messages, news headlines) and label each for sentiment — positive, negative or mixed — with a one-sentence written justification per label. Then write a mini-guideline of 5-8 rules that another worker could follow to reproduce your labels, including at least 2 edge-case rules (for example: how to treat sarcasm, mixed Pidgin and English, or emoji-only replies).
- Rank a model pair: write one realistic prompt a Nigerian user might ask an AI (health, money, exam prep — your choice) and TWO different plausible AI answers to it, where one is better in a non-obvious way (for example, the weaker one is confident but subtly wrong, or correct but unsafe). State which answer you would rank higher and justify the choice against three criteria: accuracy, helpfulness, and safety.
- Grade against a rubric: take the weaker answer from part 2 and grade it from 1 to 5 on each of your three criteria, with a short written note per criterion pointing at specific words or claims in the answer — exactly as evaluation platforms require.
- Your platform plan: name the 2 platforms from this course you would personally start with. For each, state why you qualify (or what you still need, such as a degree for expert-tier work), the payout rail you would use and why it actually works in Nigeria, and one honest risk you are accepting (low pay tier, wave-based access, or platform volatility).
- Scam check: write a realistic fake WhatsApp or Telegram job-offer message of the kind that targets Nigerians (5-8 lines), then dissect your own fake: mark at least 4 red flags inside it and state the one universal rule that exposes this whole scam family.
Files to work with

| Criterion | Weight |
|---|---|
| The 5 labels are consistent with the submitted mini-guideline, and the guideline itself is reproducible, with at least two genuine edge-case rules a new worker could apply | 25% |
| The model-pair ranking is justified against accuracy, helpfulness and safety, and correctly identifies the subtly-weaker answer for substantive reasons, not surface tone | 25% |
| Rubric grading shows calibrated judgment: scores match the written notes, and each note references specific parts of the answer rather than generic praise or blame | 20% |
| The platform plan is realistic and course-consistent: chosen platforms are ones the course lists as open (or honestly gated) for Nigerians, the payment rail genuinely works in Nigeria, and a real risk is named for each platform | 20% |
| The scam dissection marks at least 4 authentic red flags and states the universal no-fee rule | 10% |
You need 65% overall to pass. A failed submission comes back with feedback and can be revised and resubmitted.
Before you submit: make your link public
If your work lives in Google Drive or Google Docs, open Share → General access and change “Restricted” to “Anyone with the link” (Viewer). Then paste the link into a private browser window: if it opens without sign-in, you are ready. A private link cannot be graded — it is the single most common reason a good project fails.
Frequently asked questions
Do I have to finish AI Training & Data Labelling before submitting the project?
Yes. The submission screen opens once every lesson in AI Training & Data Labelling is marked complete. The lessons are where the methods, the Nigerian context and the worked examples the project depends on are taught.
How is the project graded?
An examiner scores each rubric criterion from 0 to 100 and weights them as shown on this page; you need 65% overall to pass. Most submissions are graded within minutes and you get written feedback on what was strong and what to improve.
Can I resubmit if I fail?
Yes. A failed project comes back with feedback; revise the weak parts and resubmit. A passed project is final — the certificate is issued and cannot be re-rolled.
What do I actually submit?
A write-up of what you did (under 5,000 characters). You can mention a public link to supporting files in the write-up. The free project workbook on this page walks you through all 5 steps.
Is the certificate real?
Yes. Passing this project issues a certificate with a unique verification code. Anyone — an employer, a client, a school — can open the verification page and see that the certificate is genuine and which project earned it.
