About this course

A practical course that follows Tobi Adeyemi, an Ibadan graphic designer, as he builds Kemi Aduke, a virtual Lagos fashion-and-city-life character, into a small business. You will learn what AI influencers are and which ones have actually worked, how to design a persona people want to follow, which tools to use as of October 2026 and what each costs and licenses. Then how to keep one face consistent across hundreds of images and videos, how to make photos and short videos that look real in Nigerian settings, and how to publish with the AI labels Instagram, TikTok and YouTube require and the platform rules that decide whether synthetic content earns. The money is mapped honestly: TikTok's Creator Rewards is closed to Nigeria, YouTube's Partner Program pays a recurring AI character only if each episode is a distinct story, and most income comes from brand deals, UGC ads, affiliate links and digital products, shown through one fictional studio's numbers and never as a promise. You will also learn how to license the character, how to receive money from abroad, and what ARCON, the NDPA, the Cybercrimes Act and foreign rules mean for you. The course never teaches deepfakes of real people, adult content or fake engagement. Lessons include narrated animated explainers, credited photos and short clips; videos play only when you tap them. Tobi Adeyemi, 27, is a graphic designer in Bodija, Ibadan. One night, with NEPA gone and his phone on 40 per cent, he scrolls into a fashion page: a woman in a cream two-piece on a Lagos rooftop, perfect light, a million followers, a sponsored post for a sneaker brand. The caption says she is not real. He zooms in. The skin, the braids, the jewellery all hold up. In the comments, people argue about whether she is a person. Tobi thinks about what he does all day, which is make faces and layouts for other people's brands. "Who is behind her?" he asks the dark room. "And could that be me?" This lesson answers both questions honestly.
