What you will submit
A shared Google Doc containing: structure choice with justification, two name options with real CAC public-search evidence, a complete registration details sheet, a DIY-vs-agent cost comparison including one real agent quote, and an after-registration checklist plus 12-month compliance calendar.
What to do, step by step
- 1. Choose a real business — yours, or one belonging to family or a friend (with their permission). In a Google Doc titled 'CAC Registration Pack — [Business Name]', state which structure fits it (business name, LTD, or incorporated trustee) and justify the choice in 3-5 sentences using the criteria from lesson 1.
- 2. Craft two name options following lesson 2's rules, then run the free CAC public search on each. Paste screenshots (or transcribe the results) into the doc, and write one line per name explaining why you expect it to pass or what risk you see.
- 3. Build a complete details sheet: every field CAC will ask for — proprietor/director full legal name as on NIN, date of birth, phone, email, NIN, business address with state and LGA, nature of business wording, and (for an LTD) share capital and shareholder split. List the documents you have gathered (ID, passport photo, signature scan).
- 4. Build a cost comparison table: the current official fees from cac.gov.ng for your registration type (with the date you checked), versus one real quote you collected by calling or messaging an accredited agent — record the agent's total price and what portion is their service fee.
- 5. Write your after-registration checklist (TIN verification, corporate bank account with your chosen bank and why, SCUML yes/no with reason) and a 12-month compliance calendar that includes the annual return deadline with a reminder date.
- 6. Set the Google Doc to 'Anyone with the link can view' and submit the link.

| Two well-crafted name options with genuine CAC public-search evidence and a sensible pass/risk assessment for each | 20% |
| Details sheet is complete and consistent (all CAC-required fields present, name/NIN consistency addressed, correct documents listed) | 25% |
| Cost comparison uses current official fees (with date checked on cac.gov.ng) and includes one real agent quote with the service fee separated out | 20% |
| After-registration checklist and 12-month compliance calendar are complete, dated, and include the annual return deadline with reminder | 15% |
You need 65% overall to pass. A failed submission comes back with feedback and can be revised and resubmitted.
Before you submit: make your link public
If your work lives in Google Drive or Google Docs, open Share → General access and change “Restricted” to “Anyone with the link” (Viewer). Then paste the link into a private browser window: if it opens without sign-in, you are ready. A private link cannot be graded — it is the single most common reason a good project fails.
Frequently asked questions
Do I have to finish CAC Business Registration Class before submitting the project?
Yes. The submission screen opens once every lesson in CAC Business Registration Class is marked complete. The lessons are where the methods, the Nigerian context and the worked examples the project depends on are taught.
How is the project graded?
An examiner scores each rubric criterion from 0 to 100 and weights them as shown on this page; you need 65% overall to pass. Most submissions are graded within minutes and you get written feedback on what was strong and what to improve.
Can I resubmit if I fail?
Yes. A failed project comes back with feedback; revise the weak parts and resubmit. A passed project is final — the certificate is issued and cannot be re-rolled.
What do I actually submit?
A write-up of what you did (under 5,000 characters) plus a public link to your work — a Google Drive folder, Google Doc, spreadsheet, GitHub repository or video. The link must open without sign-in; a private link cannot be graded. The free project workbook on this page walks you through all 6 steps.
Is the certificate real?
Yes. Passing this project issues a certificate with a unique verification code. Anyone — an employer, a client, a school — can open the verification page and see that the certificate is genuine and which project earned it.
