What you will submit

A single shared Google Doc or Sheet containing the appliance audit, full sizing calculations, price research with sources, a two-option itemized naira quote, and an after-sales/warranty page for one real potential customer.

What to do, step by step

  1. 1. Find ONE real potential customer — a family member, neighbour, or shop/office owner in your area — and conduct an appliance audit: list every appliance they want on the inverter with its wattage, and record how many backup hours they want and whether the fridge is included.
  2. 2. Size the system and SHOW YOUR WORKING: total watts, conversion to VA at 0.8 power factor, 25–30% headroom, the inverter size you chose, and the battery bank calculation (energy needed in watt-hours vs usable battery capacity at the correct depth of discharge for the battery type).
  3. 3. Research real current prices from at least TWO sources (call or visit a market trader, distributor, or check current online listings) and note where each price came from and the date — do not copy the illustrative figures from the lessons.
  4. 4. Build a written two-option quote (Option A tubular, Option B lithium) with itemized costs — inverter, batteries, rack, cabling/changeover, installation, transport — your margin included in one clean customer-facing total for each option, a 7-day validity line, deposit terms, and a clear written list of what the system carries and what it does NOT carry, with honest backup hours.
  5. 5. Write a short after-sales page: the warranty terms you verified for the products quoted, your maintenance plan offer, and what the customer must avoid (deep discharge, banned appliances) to keep the warranty valid.
  6. 6. Put everything in ONE Google Doc or Google Sheet, set sharing to 'Anyone with the link can view', and submit the link.

How it is graded

CriterionWeight
Appliance audit and load mathematics are complete, clearly shown, and correct (watts → VA with power factor, headroom, battery watt-hours at the right depth of discharge)30%
Inverter and battery sizing honestly fits the customer's stated need — no overselling, no undersizing, backup hours claimed match the calculations25%
Quote is professionally presented: itemized, based on real researched current prices with sources and dates, one clean total per option with margin included, validity and deposit terms stated25%
Two options (tubular vs lithium) with honest trade-offs, plus an after-sales page covering verified warranty terms, maintenance offer, and usage rules20%

You need 65% overall to pass. A failed submission comes back with feedback and can be revised and resubmitted.

Before you submit: make your link public

If your work lives in Google Drive or Google Docs, open Share → General access and change “Restricted” to “Anyone with the link” (Viewer). Then paste the link into a private browser window: if it opens without sign-in, you are ready. A private link cannot be graded — it is the single most common reason a good project fails.

Frequently asked questions

Do I have to finish Inverter Sales in the Nigerian Market before submitting the project?

Yes. The submission screen opens once every lesson in Inverter Sales in the Nigerian Market is marked complete. The lessons are where the methods, the Nigerian context and the worked examples the project depends on are taught.

How is the project graded?

An examiner scores each rubric criterion from 0 to 100 and weights them as shown on this page; you need 65% overall to pass. Most submissions are graded within minutes and you get written feedback on what was strong and what to improve.

Can I resubmit if I fail?

Yes. A failed project comes back with feedback; revise the weak parts and resubmit. A passed project is final — the certificate is issued and cannot be re-rolled.

What do I actually submit?

A write-up of what you did (under 5,000 characters) plus a public link to your work — a Google Drive folder, Google Doc, spreadsheet, GitHub repository or video. The link must open without sign-in; a private link cannot be graded. The free project workbook on this page walks you through all 6 steps.

Is the certificate real?

Yes. Passing this project issues a certificate with a unique verification code. Anyone — an employer, a client, a school — can open the verification page and see that the certificate is genuine and which project earned it.
