What you will submit

A single shared Google Doc containing your positioning, a linked 30+ prospect Sheet, gatekeeper/contact/discovery scripts, a tiered quote template with follow-up cadence, and your territory math with a weekly journey plan.

What to do, step by step

  1. 1. Choose ONE market (buyer type + product category + territory, e.g. 'medical consumables to private clinics in Kano metro') and write your one-line positioning statement, plus 3-5 sentences showing it passes the repeat-purchase, access and margin tests with rough numbers from your own area.
  2. 2. Build a prospect list of at least 30 REAL, named businesses in your territory in a Google Sheet — columns for business name, location, contact name/role where you can find it, phone, stage, last touch, and next step. Mark each one A, B or C class.
  3. 3. Write your field scripts in your own words: a gatekeeper opener, a phone/WhatsApp first-contact message, and at least 6 discovery questions that together cover need, budget (with a bracket), authority and timeline.
  4. 4. Create your quote or one-page proposal template with three price tiers using your real costs, a validity period, delivery terms and payment terms (e.g. 70/30) — plus your written day 1/3/7/14 follow-up cadence with the message for each touch.
  5. 5. Do your territory math: pick a monthly new-customer target, state your assumed ratios (quotes-to-deals, meetings-to-quotes, contacts-to-meetings), and work backwards to a daily contact number. Add a simple weekly journey plan grouping your A/B/C prospects by area and day.
  6. 6. Put everything in ONE Google Doc (link your prospect Sheet inside it), set sharing to 'Anyone with the link can view', and submit the Doc's URL.

How it is graded

CriterionWeight
Market choice and positioning: one clear buyer type + product + territory, with the three tests (repeat purchase, access, margin) argued using real local numbers15%
Prospect list: 30+ real, named businesses with locations, contact details where findable, A/B/C classification and a next-step column25%
Scripts: gatekeeper opener, first-contact message, and 6+ discovery questions that genuinely probe need, budget bracket, authority and timeline25%
Quote template and cadence: three sensible price tiers from real costs, validity period, payment terms, and a written day 1/3/7/14 follow-up sequence15%
Territory math and journey plan: target worked backwards through stated ratios to a daily activity number, plus a geographic weekly visit plan20%

You need 65% overall to pass. A failed submission comes back with feedback and can be revised and resubmitted.

Before you submit: make your link public

If your work lives in Google Drive or Google Docs, open Share → General access and change “Restricted” to “Anyone with the link” (Viewer). Then paste the link into a private browser window: if it opens without sign-in, you are ready. A private link cannot be graded — it is the single most common reason a good project fails.

Frequently asked questions

Do I have to finish Advanced Sales: Own Your Market before submitting the project?

Yes. The submission screen opens once every lesson in Advanced Sales: Own Your Market is marked complete. The lessons are where the methods, the Nigerian context and the worked examples the project depends on are taught.

How is the project graded?

An examiner scores each rubric criterion from 0 to 100 and weights them as shown on this page; you need 65% overall to pass. Most submissions are graded within minutes and you get written feedback on what was strong and what to improve.

Can I resubmit if I fail?

Yes. A failed project comes back with feedback; revise the weak parts and resubmit. A passed project is final — the certificate is issued and cannot be re-rolled.

What do I actually submit?

A write-up of what you did (under 5,000 characters) plus a public link to your work — a Google Drive folder, Google Doc, spreadsheet, GitHub repository or video. The link must open without sign-in; a private link cannot be graded. The free project workbook on this page walks you through all 6 steps.

Is the certificate real?

Yes. Passing this project issues a certificate with a unique verification code. Anyone — an employer, a client, a school — can open the verification page and see that the certificate is genuine and which project earned it.
