What you will submit

A single shared document link containing: a short product-and-customer description, a set of 5+ headlines (with your chosen main one), one PAS or AIDA short sales page/long caption, a 3-message WhatsApp or email sequence, and a short ethics-and-edit note.

What to do, step by step

  1. Choose ONE real product or service you understand well (for example a power bank, a skincare set, a data subscription, an okrika clothing line, a food vendor's package, or a small online course). At the top of your document, write 3-4 sentences describing the product, its price in naira, the exact customer you are selling to, their main pain or desire, and the one objection that makes them hesitate — using the customer research from Lesson 2.
  2. Write a headline set of at least 5 different headlines for this product, each using a different approach from Lesson 4 (for example: benefit, curiosity, pain, question, and bold-but-provable claim). Make them specific with real numbers, places, or timeframes, and mark which one you would choose as your main headline and why.
  3. Write one short sales page or long caption (roughly 120-250 words) that clearly follows EITHER the PAS or the AIDA framework from Lesson 3. Label which framework you used, lead with your chosen headline, weave in at least one piece of proof, present a clear offer with some risk reversal (guarantee or pay-on-delivery), and end with exactly one clear call-to-action.
  4. Write a 3-message WhatsApp or email sequence following the hook → offer → urgency structure from Lesson 6. Message 1 leads with value (no hard sell), Message 2 presents the offer and benefits, and Message 3 adds honest urgency and the final CTA. Keep them short, warm, and personal, and state whether they are WhatsApp broadcasts or emails.
  5. Do an ethics-and-edit check on everything: confirm every claim is honest and provable (no fake testimonials, no NAFDAC-style medical or guaranteed-money claims, no fake scarcity), cut obvious fluff, and make sure each piece has exactly one clear CTA. Add a 2-3 line note at the end naming one thing you cut or tightened during editing.
  6. Put the business description, the headline set, the sales page/caption, and the 3-message sequence into one clean, well-organised document (Google Doc, Word, or Notion), set sharing to 'anyone with the link can view', and submit the link.

Headline set of 5+ varied, specific, scroll-stopping headlines using different approaches, with a justified main choice25%

Copy is honest and ethical (no false/medical/guaranteed claims), edited for clarity, and delivered in one tidy shareable document with a working link10%

You need 65% overall to pass. A failed submission comes back with feedback and can be revised and resubmitted.

Before you submit: make your link public

If your work lives in Google Drive or Google Docs, open Share → General access and change “Restricted” to “Anyone with the link” (Viewer). Then paste the link into a private browser window: if it opens without sign-in, you are ready. A private link cannot be graded — it is the single most common reason a good project fails.

Frequently asked questions

Do I have to finish Copywriting & Sales Writing before submitting the project?

Yes. The submission screen opens once every lesson in Copywriting & Sales Writing is marked complete. The lessons are where the methods, the Nigerian context and the worked examples the project depends on are taught.

How is the project graded?

An examiner scores each rubric criterion from 0 to 100 and weights them as shown on this page; you need 65% overall to pass. Most submissions are graded within minutes and you get written feedback on what was strong and what to improve.

Can I resubmit if I fail?

Yes. A failed project comes back with feedback; revise the weak parts and resubmit. A passed project is final — the certificate is issued and cannot be re-rolled.

What do I actually submit?

A write-up of what you did (under 5,000 characters) plus a public link to your work — a Google Drive folder, Google Doc, spreadsheet, GitHub repository or video. The link must open without sign-in; a private link cannot be graded. The free project workbook on this page walks you through all 6 steps.

Is the certificate real?

Yes. Passing this project issues a certificate with a unique verification code. Anyone — an employer, a client, a school — can open the verification page and see that the certificate is genuine and which project earned it.
