What you will submit
One document (Google Doc with view access, or an uploaded Word or PDF file) with a headed section for each of the six parts. Tables are welcome. Everything fictional; no medicine names with doses; no real personal data.
What to do, step by step
- Invent a small pharmacy or patent medicine shop: its name, town, the superintendent pharmacist or licensed owner, the staff, and its opening hours. Everything is fictional: no real shop's documents, no real people, no real patients. Nowhere in the file may you recommend a medicine or write a dose; where a medicine must be mentioned, name a class or a dosage form (for example 'a children's fever syrup'), and every clinical question ends with 'refer to the pharmacist'.
- Part 1. Regulatory register: a table of the bodies and rules your shop must satisfy (PCN premises and staff registration, the superintendent pharmacist or the PPMV licence and its tier, NAFDAC registration of products and alerts, NDLEA controlled-drug rules, state health ministry, tax registration), with what each requires in outline, who in the shop is responsible, and where you would confirm the current requirement. Do not invent section numbers, fees or penalties.
- Part 2. Referral scripts: written scripts for five counter situations: a request for a prescription-only medicine without a prescription, a parent asking what to give a child, a customer demanding antibiotics or an injection, a customer asking for a codeine syrup or tramadol, and a customer with a private or stigmatised request. Each script must be kind, keep the customer's dignity, and hand the question to the pharmacist. Include one version in Pidgin or a Nigerian language.
- Part 3. Prescription completeness checklist and three checks: a checklist of what a complete prescription contains and what the assistant does and does not do in dispensing. Then apply it to three fictional prescriptions you describe in words without doses (for example 'a prescription for an adult's blood-pressure medicine with no date'), stating what is missing and what you would do.
- Part 4. Stock receiving and cold-chain procedure: a step-by-step procedure for receiving a delivery (documents, NAFDAC number, expiry and batch, packaging, temperature), storing by first-expiry-first-out, and running the fridge (thermometer log template, twice-daily readings, what to do in a power cut, what to do if the range was breached).
- Part 5. Suspect-medicine and recall procedure: how staff spot a suspected fake or substandard product, what they do with it (quarantine, do not sell, report), how a NAFDAC alert or recall is received and acted on in the shop, and the record you keep.
- Part 6. Expiry, disposal and adverse-reaction procedure: the monthly expiry check, the short-dated shelf, the quarantine area, how expired and damaged stock is disposed of legally and recorded, the returns policy for customers, and how a customer's report of a bad reaction is recorded and passed to the pharmacist for reporting to NAFDAC.

| The receiving and cold-chain procedure is complete, including FEFO, the thermometer log and power-cut and breach actions | 16% |

You need 65% overall to pass. A human examiner also reviews this safety-critical project before any certificate is issued. A failed submission comes back with feedback and can be revised and resubmitted.
Before you submit: make your link public
If your work lives in Google Drive or Google Docs, open Share → General access and change “Restricted” to “Anyone with the link” (Viewer). Then paste the link into a private browser window: if it opens without sign-in, you are ready. A private link cannot be graded — it is the single most common reason a good project fails.
Frequently asked questions
Do I have to finish Pharmacy Assistant: Working Safely and Legally in a Nigerian Pharmacy before submitting the project?
Yes. The submission screen opens once every lesson in Pharmacy Assistant: Working Safely and Legally in a Nigerian Pharmacy is marked complete. The lessons are where the methods, the Nigerian context and the worked examples the project depends on are taught.
How is the project graded?
An examiner scores each rubric criterion from 0 to 100 and weights them as shown on this page; you need 65% overall to pass. Because this is a safety-critical trade, a human examiner also reviews every submission before a certificate is issued.
Can I resubmit if I fail?
Yes. A failed project comes back with feedback; revise the weak parts and resubmit. A passed project is final — the certificate is issued and cannot be re-rolled.
What do I actually submit?
A write-up of what you did (under 5,000 characters) plus a public link to your work — a Google Drive folder, Google Doc, spreadsheet, GitHub repository or video. The link must open without sign-in; a private link cannot be graded. The free project workbook on this page walks you through all 7 steps.
Is the certificate real?
Yes. Passing this project issues a certificate with a unique verification code. Anyone — an employer, a client, a school — can open the verification page and see that the certificate is genuine and which project earned it.
