What you will submit

A written 30-day TikTok content and growth plan (Google Doc, PDF, or shared link) containing the brand brief, content pillars, 10 video ideas with hooks, a weekly posting schedule, and a sales-and-ads section.

What to do, step by step

  1. Choose one real Nigerian brand to plan for — your own hustle, a family business, or a specific business you can study (name it, say what it sells, who the customer is, and roughly what their products cost in naira).
  2. Define 2-3 content pillars (e.g. product-in-use, problem-solution, social proof, educational) and write 10 concrete video ideas spread across those pillars, each clearly tied to selling, not just entertaining.
  3. For each of the 10 video ideas, write a strong scroll-stopping hook (the on-screen text / opening line) following the hook formulas from Lesson 4 — make them specific, with the viewer's problem, a number, or a curiosity gap.
  4. Lay out a 4-week posting schedule showing which idea goes out on which days, your target posting frequency, and the rough peak times you'll post, with a note on how you'll batch-film to keep up.
  5. Add a short sales-bridge section: how viewers will buy (TikTok Shop or a WhatsApp/bio link), what your bio and call-to-action will say, and where you'd spend a small first ad budget (₦ amount and target audience) once you find a winning video.
  6. Include a brief sounds-and-hashtags note explaining how you'll find and adapt trending sounds and which hashtags you'll use, then write everything up cleanly in a document or shareable link.

How it is graded

CriterionWeight
Clear brand brief and audience: a real Nigerian business with named product, customer and naira pricing15%
10 video ideas across sensible content pillars, each tied to selling rather than just views30%
Strong, specific hooks for every idea using the Lesson 4 formulas25%
Realistic weekly posting schedule with frequency, peak times and a batching approach15%
Practical sales bridge and small-budget ad plan (buy path, CTA, naira budget and targeting)15%

You need 65% overall to pass. A failed submission comes back with feedback and can be revised and resubmitted.

Before you submit: make your link public

If your work lives in Google Drive or Google Docs, open Share → General access and change “Restricted” to “Anyone with the link” (Viewer). Then paste the link into a private browser window: if it opens without sign-in, you are ready. A private link cannot be graded — it is the single most common reason a good project fails.

Frequently asked questions

Do I have to finish TikTok Marketing for Beginners before submitting the project?

Yes. The submission screen opens once every lesson in TikTok Marketing for Beginners is marked complete. The lessons are where the methods, the Nigerian context and the worked examples the project depends on are taught.

How is the project graded?

An examiner scores each rubric criterion from 0 to 100 and weights them as shown on this page; you need 65% overall to pass. Most submissions are graded within minutes and you get written feedback on what was strong and what to improve.

Can I resubmit if I fail?

Yes. A failed project comes back with feedback; revise the weak parts and resubmit. A passed project is final — the certificate is issued and cannot be re-rolled.

What do I actually submit?

A write-up of what you did (under 5,000 characters) plus a public link to your work — a Google Drive folder, Google Doc, spreadsheet, GitHub repository or video. The link must open without sign-in; a private link cannot be graded. The free project workbook on this page walks you through all 6 steps.

Is the certificate real?

Yes. Passing this project issues a certificate with a unique verification code. Anyone — an employer, a client, a school — can open the verification page and see that the certificate is genuine and which project earned it.
