What you will submit
A single shareable document containing the brand and goal, a 5-creator shortlist with rationale and vetting notes, the gifting-vs-paid plan, a one-page brief plus outreach DM, and the ROI tracking method.
What to do, step by step
- Pick one real (or planned) Nigerian small brand and write a short summary: what you sell, who your customer is, and ONE specific, measurable campaign goal (e.g. "40 WhatsApp orders in three weeks") with a realistic naira budget.
- Build a shortlist of 5 creators (real handles or realistic examples). For each, give platform, rough follower count, niche, location, and a clear rationale for why their audience fits your customer — plus one vetting note showing you checked their engagement looks genuine.
- Decide your approach for the shortlist: which creators you'll gift versus pay, with rough naira figures, and a one-line justification of the mix against your budget and goal.
- Write a one-page brief for the campaign (brand summary, goal, 2–3 key messages, the must-include list with handle/code/link/disclosure, deliverable and deadline) plus a warm, specific outreach DM you'd actually send to one creator.
- Explain how you'll measure ROI: the unique codes and/or links each creator gets, the exact numbers you'll track (orders, revenue, reach), and a simple worked example of the ROI sum (spend vs profit driven).
- Put it all in one document (Google Doc, Notion, or a shared PDF/link) and submit the public, viewable link.

| Creator shortlist: 5 well-chosen creators with strong audience-fit rationale and a genuine vetting note each | 25% |
| Brief and outreach: a clear, skimmable one-page brief (incl. disclosure) and a warm, specific outreach DM | 20% |
| ROI tracking: unique codes/links per creator, the right metrics, and a correct worked ROI example | 20% |
| Nigerian context and practicality: real platforms, realistic naira figures, gifting-vs-paid mix and local realities | 15% |
You need 65% overall to pass. A failed submission comes back with feedback and can be revised and resubmitted.
Before you submit: make your link public
If your work lives in Google Drive or Google Docs, open Share → General access and change “Restricted” to “Anyone with the link” (Viewer). Then paste the link into a private browser window: if it opens without sign-in, you are ready. A private link cannot be graded — it is the single most common reason a good project fails.
Frequently asked questions
Do I have to finish Influencer Marketing for Small Brands before submitting the project?
Yes. The submission screen opens once every lesson in Influencer Marketing for Small Brands is marked complete. The lessons are where the methods, the Nigerian context and the worked examples the project depends on are taught.
How is the project graded?
An examiner scores each rubric criterion from 0 to 100 and weights them as shown on this page; you need 65% overall to pass. Most submissions are graded within minutes and you get written feedback on what was strong and what to improve.
Can I resubmit if I fail?
Yes. A failed project comes back with feedback; revise the weak parts and resubmit. A passed project is final — the certificate is issued and cannot be re-rolled.
What do I actually submit?
A write-up of what you did (under 5,000 characters) plus a public link to your work — a Google Drive folder, Google Doc, spreadsheet, GitHub repository or video. The link must open without sign-in; a private link cannot be graded. The free project workbook on this page walks you through all 6 steps.
Is the certificate real?
Yes. Passing this project issues a certificate with a unique verification code. Anyone — an employer, a client, a school — can open the verification page and see that the certificate is genuine and which project earned it.
